Upcycled T-Shirt Cowl
Transform an old T-shirt into a pretty summer scarf. With just a few cuts and a few stitches, you'll have a hip new accessory in minutes!
Lay your T-shirt out on a work surface.
Cut off top of T-shirt below armholes, and bottom above hemline. This T-shirt has a curved hem, so cutting line was positioned at sides above highest points of hem to make a tube.
Turn under the top and bottom edges of the T-shirt tube 3/4" to the inside to prepare for the hem. Using a twin needle, two spools of matching thread and a matching bobbin, stitch hems. To learn how to hem a T-shirt with a twin needle, read our blog here. For other techniques for hemming a T-shirt, read our blog here.
Try on the cowl. Tie an overhand knot at one side to adjust the neckline fit.
